PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorohalogen ether, having good selectivity in synthesizing the fluorohalogen ether. SOLUTION: This method for producing the (per)fluorohalogen ether represented by general formula (I) [A and A' are identical to or different from each other and are each Cl, Br or H; R<SB>1</SB>is a 1-20C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl which is fluorinated, a 3-7C cycloalkyl which is fluorinated or the like (preferably, a perfluoroalkyl); R' is a perfluoroalkyl or the like; m is 1 or 2; and n is 0 or 1] comprises reacting a carbonyl compound represented by formula (II) (u is 0 or 1) with elemental fluorine together with an olefinic compound of formula (III): CAF=CA'F<SB>2</SB>at a temperature of -120°C to -20°C in a liquid phase in the presence of an optional solvent which is inert in the reaction condition.
