<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of detecting the abnormality of a separation charger, dispensing with the additional installation of new hardware. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 for forming an image with toner, is provided with a separation means 46 for separating a recording paper from a photoreceptor 41, a 1st measurement means 61 for measuring the density of the toner developed on the photoreceptor 41, a 2nd measurement means 62 for measuring the density of the toner transferred to the recording paper, a 1st determination means 83 for determining whether or not the toner density measured by the 1st measuring means 61 is normal, a 2nd determination means 84 for determining whether or not the toner density measured by the 2nd measurement means 62 is higher than the normal density, and an abnormality decision means 82 for deciding the abnormality of the separation means 46 when it is determined by the 1st determination means 83 that the toner density is normal, and also, determined by the 2nd determination means 84 that the toner density is higher than the normal density. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
