<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flexible protection to a specific module of an application and/or services within a library from other modules and/or other services within the library. <P>SOLUTION: A method for providing flexible protection to a computer system by separating protection from privileges includes making it possible to receive information describing two or more types of protection (302); and, in making it possible to receive information describing the relationship between the two or more types of protection and code parts executed by the same privilege level of the computer system (302), eliminating the need for the relationship to be linear, and making it possible to associate the information describing the two or more types of protection with the information describing the relationship to the code parts (306). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
