PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition useful for ballpoint pens which has a good handwriting performance after a long-period passage without being influenced by the moisture, by making the dispersion of a pigment stable in the oil-based ballpoint pen ink. SOLUTION: The oil-based ink composition for use in ballpoint pens contains a colorant, an organic solvent having the boiling point of 150°C or higher, and a polymer compound which is soluble in this organic solvent but is insoluble in water.
