PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of easily ensuring an operation space to operate a locking mechanism to lock the position of a positionally adjustable steering wheel. SOLUTION: The steering device 1 comprises a locking mechanism 10 to releasably lock the adjustment position of a steering column 4 which is supported in a positionally adjustable manner to a vehicle body 5, and a remotely operating mechanism 11 including an operation lever 19 to remotely operate the locking mechanism 10 via a transmission wire 18. Since the operation lever 19 can be arranged at the position separate from the locking mechanism 10, the operation space of the operation lever 19 can be easily ensured, and the locking mechanism 10 can be easily and remotely operated from the operation lever 19.
