PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device having a plurality of heat generating means provided to an image forming apparatus, such as a copying machine, facsimile and a printer, in which the balance for heat values of each heat generation means is satisfactory and rise is satisfactory, and to provide the image forming apparatus provided with the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device 38, having a first heat generating means 63 which uses a gas whose principal component is argon and a second heat generating means 64 which uses a gas whose principal component is xenon and the image forming apparatus provided with the fixing device 38 are provided.
