PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer changing unit for changing the spacing between roller aprons which is intended to guide a cast piece in continuous casting equipment. SOLUTION: In the change of a roller apron spacing in a continuous casting machine, an upper moving frame whereby upper rolls are arranged and supported, a lower fixed frame whereby lower rolls are arranged and supported, a column shaft which is screwed/fixed via nuts to the lower fixed frame, and the upper moving frame which is so integrated that the up-and-down movement is guided by the column shaft, are connected and integrated with two pairs of connecting frames where each pair of hydraulic cylinders are installed at the upper end of the column shaft, so that the spacing between the upper roll and lower roll is optionally established. After a spacer is inserted between the upper moving frame and the lower fixed frame, the upper moving frame is made to descend to make a contact bonding with the spacer, so that the spacing between rolls is changed to any arbitrary thickness. The spacer changing unit for changing the roller apron spacing in the continuous casting machine makes the spacer work together with each motion of the travelling and up-and-down movement on the lower fixed frame to enable carrying-in/carrying-out of the spacer.
