PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a connector in a deflecting direction of a lance. SOLUTION: An excessive deflection restraining part 29, capable of restraining deflection of the lance 17 exceeding an elastic limit by making a part of the lance 17 further backward of a free end 17F touch the excessive deflection restraining part when the lance 17 is elastically deflected toward a space 23, is formed on a housing 10. Since the excessive deflection restraining part 29, with which a part of the lance 17 further backward of a free end 17F is made to touch, is to be located at a part nearer to the lance 17 as compared with the excessive deflection restraining part, with which the free end of the lance is made to touch, the size of the connector A in the deflecting direction (a vertical direction) can be reduced.
