PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image to be read stably even when used under strong environment light. SOLUTION: The reader is provided with a one-dimensional line sensor 24 with an electronic shutter for outputting image data for each line and a SELFOC lens 22 for forming an image of a part against which an object (a finger) of a read surface is pressed in the one-dimensional line sensor 24.
