PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain the distribution data of splice losses without the need of a large amount of man-hours and expenses. SOLUTION: By calculating respective axial shift values which can be determined from distribution data of dimensional parameters of a ferrule having a through-hole in the longitudinal direction and of an optical fiber to be inserted into the ferrule as the sum total of vector values in the plane vertical to the axial direction of the optical fiber and the ferrule, the probability distribution of the axial shift values in the connected state when tuning is carried out, which is the technique of arranging in order the direction of axial shift of single plug in which the optical fiber is inserted into the ferrule, is calculated, and the probability distribution of splice losses is calculated when the tuning is carried out therefrom.
