A flashing indicator device (1) has an additional flashing indicator element (AFIE) (3) to radiate an optical flashing signal (OFS) during operation. A flashing indicator element (FIE) (2) and the AFIE start flashing so that they radiate a synchronized optical signal, and are triggered in a warning flashing operation so that only the FIE generates an OFS and the AFIE remains switched off.
