The axle has a differential gear (4) with a ring gear (5) that is propelled from a bevel gear (6), and portal drives (16, 17) that are provided for respective gears (5, 6). A reduction gear riser (13) is provided in a force flow direction of the differential gear. Another reduction gear riser (14) is provided in the drives. The ring gear is aligned such that its axis of rotation does not lie on the axis of rotation of the differential gear.
