927,078. Making bags. M. GENNERICH, and A. WINDMOLLER, [trading as WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER]. Dec. 18, 1959 [Jan. 30, 1959], No. 43023/59. Class 94(2). Paper or like bags of multi-ply construction, in which valves may be made by known means, are made from a plurality of webs of which only the inner layer 9 is originally coated with plastic material, with the result that, when a multi-ply tube is folded to form a cross bottom end, Fig. 1, parts 12, 13 of the other plies 10, 11 are exposed to the inside of the bag unprotected by a plastic coating. Those parts 12 of the uncoated web 10 which become so exposed are coated with plastic material where shown in Fig. 3, in which 14 represents the dividing line between the submachine by a roller which has raised portions sequently cut blanks. Similarly for the other web or webs. The coating material is applied to the separate webs in the tube-forming corresponding to the parts 12, 13 &c. and to which warm thermoplastic synthetic resin is fed, or a plastic suspension, by pick-up and transfer rollers. |
