PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain natural translation that is not translation in which each word is simply translated and enumerated by converting the last index word into a tree structure which makes it a master node when a certain index word appears at the end of a composite word consisting of plural words. SOLUTION: ROM 70 which operates as a recording medium that stores a program, a dictionary, etc., is connected to a CPU 50 and internally stores a translation program 30 which translates Japanese into English sentences and a translation dictionary 40 to which the program 30 refers. The program 30 contains a morphological analyzing part 31 which performs morphological analysis of Japanese sentences, a structure analyzing part 32 which analyzes modification relation of the Japanese sentences, etc., and a structure converting part 33 which changes analyzed Japanese sentences into English structures. The part 33 converts the flat tree structure of composite words into a tree structure that is suitable to generate a correct translation result. This makes such natural translation a user does not have to correct a translation result. |
