The stationary winding drum of a sample warping machine consists of end plates (14, 16) joined by spokes (18). Yarn (68) from a creel (64) is taken through guide tubes (110) and wound on the drum by guides (88), which can be moved between a winding and waiting position and are associated with cutters and yarn clamps. The creel (64) and yarn guide assemblies (88, 110) rotate and move longitudinally. Lease rods (33c, 33d, 33e, 33f) move longitudinally. The rotary motion of the creel and yarn guide assemblies is provided by a motor (62) through a belt drive. The longitudinal motion is controlled by a motor (50) which drives a nut (52) engaged on a screwed rod (38). The longitudinal motion of the frame (32) carrying the lease rods is generated by a motor (34) that drives an engaged nut (36). The movement of yarn guides (88) and associated action of clamps and cutters, together with the motion of the creel and lease rod can be controlled to wind a wide range of sample warp patterns of one or more layers. |
