The method involves nullifying speed differential between an inlet and an outlet of one of two couplers opened on a mode, before closing the coupler, in a preparation phase during mode transformation operation. One coupler is opened and the other is closed or vice-versa depending on the modes. The speed differentials are obtained by matrix calculation from speed of inlet and outlet of transmission.
