A robotic vacuum cleaner is provided with an optical sensor for avoiding obstacles in its path and also a touch sensitive sensor for the same purpose for avoiding obstacles outside the range of the optical sensor. On touching and obstacle the cleaner stops for seconds, reverses while turning right a the same time, for 3 seconds and then continues forwards. The cleaner can also be controlled from a remote controller and is provided with a switch for switching between the fully autonomous mode and the remote controlled mode. |
