<p>The preparation of optically-active 1,2-nitroalcohols has high enantio and diastereomeric component concentrations produced by mixing of a tertiary amine and of an optically-active 1,2-amino alcohol with a suspension of a zinc salt in a nitroalkane. Stirring at 20 degrees C and reaction with a carbonyl compound at -40 to 25 degrees C for 15-18 hours permits recuperation of aminoalcohol IV for recycling in the process.</p> |
