PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a test element for analyzing a sample material such as blood or urine, in such a manner that reproducible measuring conditions are ensured with economical manufacturing processes and uncomplicated apparatus. SOLUTION: The test element is equipped with a test carrier (12) which has an analytical area (18) to which the sample material can be applied, and a heating element (22) being in heat conducting contact with the analytical area (18), wherein the heat element integrated into the test carrier (12) is formed by a thermistor (22) which self-heats and self-regulates to a preset target temperature when current flows through it.
