PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embossing method which, with an engraved roll and a receiving roll light in weight, can easily form an uneven pattern and is excellent in product pattern depth and production costs and embossed paper obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In the single-sided embossing method, the uneven pattern is formed in a sheet-like substrate by the engraved roll and the receiving roll. The engraved roll and the receiving roll are elastic rolls, and the peripheral surface of the receiving roll is flat. The hardness of the engraved roll measured by the spring hardness test type A of JIS K6301 is at least 80 degrees, indicating higher hardness than that of the receiving roll. In the embossing method, paper having a water content of 20 mass% or below is used as the sheet-like substrate. The embossed paper is obtained by the method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
