<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fix a metal clip to a mounting part, which is made of a resin or a metal and provided in a barrel or a cap body, without the need for working with a high degree of dimensional accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In this clip fixing structure of a writing instrument, a base part at the rear end of the clip is engaged with the mounting part which is protrusively provided on the outer surface of the barrel; the clip, whose top surface is provided with a window part, is made of the metal and formed in a box shape; a notch is formed backward at the back end of the window part; protrusive pieces are formed on both the insides of the lower end of the clip base part facing the notched part the mounting part; fit-in grooves are formed on both the sides of the upper part of the mounting part; and engaging grooves are formed on both the sides of the lower part of the mounting part. The clip is slid forward, so that end surfaces on both the sides of the notch are engaged with the fit-in grooves of the mounting part, and the protrusive pieces, which are formed on both the insides of the lower end, are elastically engaged with the engaging grooves of the mounting part, so that the clip can be fixed to the barrel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
