PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic conveying system that conveys and recovers a capsule without reversing the flow of air. SOLUTION: The pneumatic conveying system forms a closed circuit by connecting a plurality of departure/arrival stations with endless conveying pipes, and conveys the capsule placed in this closed circuit from one departure/arrival station to another departure/arrival station. Air stream generating devices are attached at appropriate locations on the conveying pipes, each air stream generating device having an exhausting part exhausting the air in the conveying pipe to the outside and adjacently an air jetting part taking in the outside air and jetting it into the conveying pipe. The outside air is caused to be taken in by reduced pressure state created in the conveying pipe as the air in the conveying pipe is forcibly exhausted through the exhausting part. An air stream is generated in the conveying pipe by the high speed injection of this outside air from the air jetting part into the conveying pipe, thus allowing the capsule placed in the conveying pipe to be conveyed by this air stream.
