PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable wireless communication by setting a proper channel switching condition to a digital wireless communication apparatus for making wireless communication with one base station. SOLUTION: The digital wireless communication apparatus (cordless telephone slave unit (10)) includes: a wireless section (12) for transmitting/receiving a wireless signal to/from the base station; a frame extract section (14) for extracting a frame from the wireless signal; a frame error rate calculation section (19) for calculating a frame error rate; a counter (21) for counting the number of frames wherein a frame error takes place and the received signal strength of which exceeds a prescribed threshold value; and a channel switching discrimination section (22) for discriminating that the channel switching condition is satisfied when the frame error rate calculated by the frame error rate calculation section (19) reaches a prescribed threshold value or over and the number of frames counted by the counter (21) reaches a prescribed threshold value or over.
