PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of accurately detecting a defect of a nozzle by utilizing an impact force when an ink discharged from the nozzle impacts. SOLUTION: In the inkjet printer recording an image on a recording medium by discharging the ink from the nozzle, the inkjet printer is characterized by that a piezoelectric film 62 provided at the front of the nozzle of a head module 31 in the ink droplet discharging direction, and an ink droplet receiving part 61 placed between the nozzle and the piezoelectric film 62 and receiving the ink droplet discharged from the nozzle are equipped, and a plurality of line channels in parallel each other are formed on the impacting surface S1 of the ink droplet receiving part 61, and when the defect of discharging of the nozzle is detected, the ink droplet discharged from the nozzle is discharged so that the maximum diameter r is larger than the maximum diameter of the ink droplet discharged during image recording and not larger than the width w of the line channel.
