PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm gas meter free from getting wrinkled compared with square or corner rounded ones, the pressure loss of which can be reduced and also its own height size can be designed shorter. SOLUTION: In the diaphragm gas meter, a measuring film 21 is prepared in its measuring room 16 to be reciprocated by gas pressure inflowing from a gas inlet 14, the reciprocating motion of the measuring film 21 is interlocked with a valve mechanism and an integrating mechanism via both a wing shaft 22 and a crank chain. The gas meter is characterized by that the shape of this measuring film 21 provided on its measuring room 16 is designed as a laterally long elliptical shape long in width direction of the gas meter.
