PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor with reduced vibrations in operation and with reduced noise. SOLUTION: In the compressor, a sealed vessel 1 houses a compressor element 2 and an electric motor element 3 therein, and the electric motor element 3 has a rotor 14 and a stator 15 which is disposed on an outer peripheral side of the rotor 14 and fixed to the sealed vessel 1. The sealed vessel 1 has a reinforcement member 25 for restricting the deformation of the sealed vessel 1. The reinforcement member 25 is housed in the sealed vessel 1 to restrict inward deformation of the sealed vessel 1, and is disposed near the electric motor element 3 separately from the electric motor element 3.
