The 3-point safety belt device has a fixed retractor and a fixed lock, a fixed attachment region and a fixed direction changing fitting (12). The retractor, belt lock and attachment region are arranged on a vehicle seat (1) and the direction changing fitting is arranged approximately at the shoulder height of an occupant of the seat. The direction changing element consists of a latching element (13) on the vehicle body and a counter latching element (14) on the safety belt (6) with a belt guide slot through which the belt is fed for direction changing.
