The abrasive article has agglomerate grains (19) adhered to a backing material by a resin binder .The grain consists of abrasive particles joined to an adjacent particle by the resin binder, which is present in the agglomerate as a discontinuous phase in the form of bond posts. The agglomerate has a loose pack volume that is two percent lower than that of abrasive particles in the individual state.
