PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of performing movement detection without increasing a circuit scale and a memory capacity. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is composed by providing a profile extraction processing means 1 for extracting the profile of a picture signal from an imaging device, a centroid coordinate calculation means 2 for calculating centroid coordinates of the picture signal whose profile has been extracted, an amount-of-movement calculation means 3 for calculating an amount of movement between each centroid point of continuous picture signals and the next, and a blurred picture determination means 4 for determining whether a picture is blurred by the unintentional movement of the camera in hands from the calculated amount of movement.
