PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the discarded amount of insulating oil of an electric apparatus when the electric apparatus such as an oil-immersed transformer or the like is overhauled. SOLUTION: In a method for treating the insulating oil of the oil-immersed transformer 10, this method comprises the first step in which the insulating oil of the oil-immersed transformer 10 is passed through a filter 32 to be transferred to external tanks 41 to 43 of the oil-immersed transformer 10; the second step in which an interior of the oil-immersed transformer 10 is evacuated by a vacuum pump 38, and also the insulating oil in the tanks 41 to 43 is returned to the oil-immersed transformer 10 through a degasifier 35; the third step in which an interior of the empty tanks 41 to 43 is cleaned with a supplementing insulating oil; and the fourth step in which, after cleaned, the interior of the oil-immersed transformer 10 is evacuated by the vacuum pump 38, and also the supplementing insulating oil in the tanks 41 to 43 is poured into the oil-immersed transformer 10 through the degasifier 35.
