PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide cover device for a machine tool, which can reduce the number of parts and production cost, shorten production period, and does not hinder minute movement of a spindle head by employing a minimum number of link mechanisms, to thereby improve the machining accuracy of a workpiece. SOLUTION: The slide cover device for the machine tool comprises a head plate 100, a plurality of sliding plates 110, and a link means. The head plate 100 has a through hole 102 formed therein, into which the spindle head 3 is inserted, and functions to move along a movement passage 5 together with the spindle head 3. The sliding plates 110 slidably overlap each other, and the sliding plate arranged inside is shorter in length than the sliding plate arranged outside. Further the innermost sliding plate slidably supports the head plate 100 while the outermost sliding plate is fixed to the movement passage 5, and each sliding plate has a guide hole 114 for guiding the movement of the spindle head 3. The link means interlocks the head plate 100 to each sliding plate 110 during the movement of the head plate 100 such that the sliding plates 110 overlap each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
