PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element and its manufacturing method which embodies high numerical aperture and high resolution. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element includes a first base and a second base positioned opposite to each other with a space and having a picture element region, a gate wiring formed on an inner surface of the first base, a data wiring intersecting the gate wiring, a switching thin film transistor coupled to the gate wiring and the data wiring, a driving thin film transistor coupled to the switching thin film transistor, power supply wiring coupled to the driving thin film transistor, a first electrode formed on an inner surface of the second base, a first partition positioned in a boundary region of the picture element region of the first electrode to be separated from each other, a second partition, an organic electroluminescent layer formed in the picture element region on the first electrode, a second electrode formed in the picture element region on the organic electroluminescent layer, and a coupling electrode for electrically coupling the first base to the second base.
