PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge suppressor by which stable electric property can be obtained. SOLUTION: The surge suppressor comprises a cylindrical ceramics 4 at the periphery of which conductive films 3 are formed by splitting through a discharge gap 2 in the center, a pair of terminal electrode members 5 which are arranged opposed to each other at the both ends of the cylindrical ceramics 4 and contact the conductive film 3, and a barrel shape ceramics 7 which by arranging the pair of terminal electrode members 5 at both ends, seals the cylindrical ceramics 4 inside together with a sealing gas 6. The terminal electrode members 5 have a fringe portion 5A to be adhered to the end surface of an insulating tube 7 by a brazing material 8 and the terminal electrode member 5 and the insulating member 4 are adhered through an active silver braze 9.
