PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical disk or an objective lens from being damaged by collision between the optical disk and the objective lens in an optical head for performing reproduction or recording of information to two or more different kinds of optical disks. SOLUTION: An optical head device for reproducing or recording two or more kinds of information recording media different from each other is provided with a 1st optical system 10, a 2nd optical system 20, and a control part 80 for preventing a collision between a 1st optical disk 30 and a 2nd objective lens 16 when the 1st optical system is in operation.
