PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a host of control for duplexing data. SOLUTION: A data duplexing device 3 is connected between the host 1 and two disk subsystems 17 and 18. The data duplexing device 3 acts as a single disk subsystem to the host 1. The data duplexing device 3 duplicates a data I/O command from the host 1, and issues the duplicate data I/O commands to the two disk subsystems 17 and 18. If either of the disk subsystems 17 and 18 fails, the data duplexing device 3 sends the data I/O command from the host 1 only to the normal disk subsystem.
