PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detecting device which can reduce processing loads when obtaining a rotation angle. SOLUTION: A rotation angle detecting device 1 comprises a GMR sensor 31 which detects intensity of magnetic field, a magnet 23 with whose N pole facing the GMR sensor 31, and a magnet 24 with whose S pole facing the GMR sensor 31. The magnets 23 and 24 are formed such that a facing area to the GMR sensor 31 changes in proportion to the rotation angle of a rotor 20 along the rotation direction of the rotor 20. In such a formation, the GMR sensor 31 relatively moves against the magnets 23 and 24 along the boundary of the N pole of the magnet 23 and the S pole of the magnet 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
