<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generating method and an apparatus usable in an aircraft. <P>SOLUTION: Oxygen is generated by at least one On Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS), and inert gas is generated by at least one On Board Inert Gas Generating System (OBIGGS), to be selectively supplied as assistance to the inert gas by using exhaust gas from exhaust gas from at least one OBOGS. The inert gas is nitrogen. An auxiliary oxygen source may exist. A control valve is used for selectively supplying the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas from at least one OBOGS to any of the atmosphere or two places. The oxygen is used for a passenger room of the aircraft, and the inert gas is used for a fuel tank or a cargo room of the aircraft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
