PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid quantity measuring device wherein the liquid quantity to be detected is not changed by rocking of the liquid surface in a tank. SOLUTION: This liquid quantity measuring device is equipped with a float 14 moving up and down corresponding to the height of the liquid surface in the tank, an arm 15 having the float 14 installed on the tip, journaled at the rear part, and rotating by upward/downward movement of the float 14 centered at a shaft 11, a contact terminal 20 installed on the arm 15, and a contact plate 17 to be in contact with the contact terminal 20. In the device, the contact terminal 20 is slid and moved on the surface of the contact plate 17 by rotation of the arm 15, and the sliding position of the contact terminal is detected electrically, to thereby determine the liquid quantity in the tank. In the device, a base plate 10 is installed rotatably around the shaft 11 so as to correct fluctuation of the liquid quantity caused by sliding movement of the contact terminal 20 resulting from rocking, when the liquid surface is rocked.
