<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a fuel cell capable of suppressing the amount of gas passing through under a rib and enhancing the cell efficiency (fuel economy). <P>SOLUTION: (1) The separator 10 for the fuel cell has ribs 17 forming a meandering passage and a plurality of protruding parts 19 inside the passage. The rib 17 is enlarged in at least one of the width and height than those of the protruding part 19. (2) The cross section shape of the rib 17 is constant in the rib extension direction.
