<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood structure for an automobile capable of enhancing impact absorption characteristic by effectively resisting to stress applied by impact load while suppressing increase of vehicle body weight as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of main frames 7, 7 provided at a back side of a hood skin 2 is arranged so as to be crossed each other at an upper position of a cylinder head cover and is formed in a main stress axis X direction relative to input load.
