IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly correct a image quality failure such as smear and unevenness which is irregularly generated on a display part. SOLUTION: This image display apparatus 1 is equipped with; the display part for displaying an image based on an image signal; a gamma correction part 12 for performing grayscale correction of the image signal which is transmitted to the display part; a corrected value calculation part 14 for calculating a corrected value of the grayscale correction according to a pixel position of the display part; and an adder part 13 for adding the corrected value calculated in the corrected value calculation part 14 to the image signal corrected in the gamma correction part 12. This image display method comprises; a process for performing the grayscale correction of the image signal which is transmitted to the display part; a process for calculating the corrected value of the grayscale correction according to the pixel position of the display part; and a process for adding the corrected value to the image signal after the grayscale correction.
