A tetrahydrofuran-copolymer is obtained by co-polymerizing tetrahydrofuran with an alpha , omega -diol, in the presence of a heteropolyacid and a telogen. The telogen and/or diol are added in reactor (I) of the process. Water is distilled off directly from reactor (I), besides polymerization, throughout the reaction.
