PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor system for synthesizing plural polymer sequences on a substrate. SOLUTION: The reaction system for synthesizing plural polymer sequences on a substrate comprises (a) reactors contacting reaction fluids to the substrates, (b) a system for supplying selected reaction fluids to the reactors, (c) translational stages for transferring masks or substrates at least from a first relative position to a second relative position, (d) light for irradiating the substrate through the masks within a selected time, and (e) a properly programmed digital computer for selectively directing flows of the fluid from the reactor system, for selectively activating the translational stages and for selectively irradiating the substrates to form the plural various polymer sequences on the substrates at predetermined positions.
