PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head actuator for a magnetic disk device which is withstand to impact by emplying the structure capable of driving an entire suspension by providing an actuator in the arm tip of a voice coil motor is employed, thereby making the actuator large in size and increasing the cross-sectional area of a microbeam, and to provide the magnetic disk device using the magnetic head actuator. SOLUTION: The magnetic head actuator for the magnetic head device disposed in the tip of the arm of a voice coil motor to rock a magnetic head slider via a suspension is constructed in such a manner that a fixing part to the arm is provided, one end side of the fixing part is fixed together with a stator in the arm tip, a rotor is disposed on the other end side and supported to swing by a metal microbeam formed by bending, a permanent magnet is arranged in the stator, a coil is arranged in the rotor, or a coil is arranged in the stator and a permanent magnet is arranged in the stator, a current is supplied to the coil in a magnetic field formed by the permanent magnet to generate displacement in the microbeam, and the suspension fixed to the rotor and a magnetic head slider attached to its tip are swung. Thus, the highly reliable magnetic head actuator capable of accomplishing the accurate positioning by a simple structure and having resistance to shocks is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
