PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus with the same operation of a control knob in an inverted display as in the normal display, for adjustment of the luminance increase and decrease of an image. SOLUTION: In the operation for displaying the image in which luminance is not inverted, when a gain knob 28 is turned in the right direction, luminance of image becomes brighter. In the inverted display, the code of the signal obtained by turning the gain knob 28 in the right direction is reversed by means of a correction part 36. Thus, in a signal processing division 18, intensity of the received signal lowers caused by the process causing the luminance to be inverted with a brightness inversion processing part 24. The portion where intensity of the signal is made to be lowered, is high in brightness on a display screen, that is, brighter. As a result, also in the reverse image turning, the gain knob 28 in the right direction results in the higher luminance of the screen. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
