883,997. Photomechanical procedures. LANGBEIN-PFANHAUSER WERKE A.G. Feb. 6, 1959, No. 4189/59. Class 98(2). Even or uneven for example, curved, conical or cylindrical shaped surfaces of metal or non- metal articles are provided with markings, illustrations, scales or the like by applying representations thereof to a model with proportionally enlarged surface of the same shape, recording photographically, reducing the record to size, preparing a block as ink carrier, printing the markings on the article with aid of a pressure pad, and subjecting the unprinted parts to a building up process so that the ink is embedded in built up areas. This building up may be by galvanic precipitation, using a metal pre-coat on articles of non- conducting substances, or instead of such precipitation the unprinted parts may be oxidised, burnt, phosphated or given other treatment. In another embodiment the surface may be pretreated, thus aluminium alloy may be anodically oxidised, printed, coloured and then have the printed markings removed. |
