PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor, by which yet further higher output torque can be obtained by improving a magnetic path formed by a stator core and a case, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A winding space can be increased by directly winding a coil winding 4 around a pole tooth 8a covered with an insulating layer 11, as compared with the case of winding the coil winding 4 around a bobbin in the stepping motor 1. Consequently, the output torque can be made higher, even if the stepping motor 1 is miniaturized. At least one of the metal substrates of the outer peripheral edge of the stator core 8 and the inner periphery of the case 9 is made to expose and joint at the jointing part 10. Thus, the thickness of a film in the jointing part 10 can be reduced. Thus, magnetic resistance generated by the insulating layer can be reduced, and further, higher output torque can be obtained.
