PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate matter color sorting machine with improved sorting accuracy, the threshold of which can be easily set up. SOLUTION: A detection means 10 of the particulate matter color sorting machine 1 is provided with a converter circuit 13 which converts each piece of pixel data of red, blue, and green detected with an optical sensing means 6 into a uniform color space of an L*a*b* color system or an L*u*v* color system, and determines the quality of the pixel data by comparing the converted data of L*a*b* or L*u*v* converted with the converter circuit 13 with a predetermined threshold value for spherical formation RY.
