<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a granularity distribution of a powder granular material which accurately finds a fluctuation of a particle diameter from an acquired image. <P>SOLUTION: The image is estimated by applying an optimizing process using a performance function comprising a plurality of constraint conditions in a probability theory to images after pre-processing of a filtering process and a binarizing process to an acquired original image. In the process, a pixel variable of observed pixels is approximated by a calculation from a variable assigned to its adjacent pixels, and an estimated image is acquired by adjusting a range of an adjacent region representing the adjacent pixels and deviating correcting actions on active pixels and inactive pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
