<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain good quality images even after intensive use in an image forming apparatus, such as a laser beam printer or a copying machine, which forms images, and to provide a control method of the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a cartridge with a memory capable of storing the number of prints is used.
